Replaced text

0 matches0 replacements

Paste text and enter a search term to preview replacements. Nothing is changed until you copy or download the result.

Your original text stays in the input box. In regular-expression mode, replacement strings can use groups such as $1. Keep a copy of the source when a replacement affects a shared or imported file.

Update repeated text without editing line by line

Paste a document, list, or export, enter the text to find, and preview every replacement before copying the result. This is useful for changing a product name, correcting a repeated typo, replacing old URLs in a link list, or reformatting separators before importing data into another system.

Literal text or a regular expression

Literal mode treats the search text exactly as typed, including punctuation and symbols. Regular-expression mode can match patterns such as multiple spaces, email addresses, or numbered variants, and replacement strings can use groups such as $1. Start with literal mode when a plain phrase is enough; use regex only when the pattern is understood and testable.

Preview before you copy

The output updates as you type and reports how many matches were found and replaced. The original text stays in the input box, and the result is a separate copy. That separation makes it easier to compare the before and after, especially when Replace all is enabled.

Use it on lists, exports, and documents

One find-and-replace pass can normalize a list before deduplication or sorting. Replace a repeated prefix, remove a pasted label, or change a delimiter, then open the dedupe or sort tool for the next step. Keep an untouched copy of any source file that someone else may need to audit.

Keep the work private

This tool runs in the browser tab you are using. No account is required and your text is not submitted to a server. The result exists only on this device, so copy or download it before closing the page.

Frequently asked questions

Can I replace every occurrence?

Yes, Replace all is enabled by default. Turn it off to replace only the first match and review the result before continuing.

Can I use regular expressions and capture groups?

Yes. In regular-expression mode, replacement strings support groups such as $1 and the usual JavaScript replacement tokens. Invalid patterns show an error instead of changing the text.

Can I match whole words only?

Yes. Whole-word matching prevents a search for cat from changing the cat inside category. It works with both literal and simple regular-expression patterns.

Does it work on lists?

Yes. Paste one item per line and replace a shared prefix, suffix, or typo. Use the dedupe and sort tools afterward if the list also needs cleanup.

Is my text uploaded to a server?

No. Matching and replacement run in your browser. The source text and the result stay on the device.
