Choose literal or regular-expression matching, preview every replacement, and keep an untouched copy of the source.

A useful list comparison starts with a clear decision, not an upload. This workflow keeps the comparison in your browser and makes the matching rules visible, so the resulting exception list can be reviewed rather than blindly acted upon.
Define the exact pattern to change and decide whether case and whole words matter. Start with literal matching when a plain phrase is enough.
Work from a copy of the original text or file. Note the system that will receive the result and keep the source available for comparison and recovery.
Use whole-word matching to avoid changing a search term inside a longer word. In regular-expression mode, test capture groups on a small sample and escape literal punctuation.
Check the match count and read the output around every replacement. Compare the before and after, and confirm that unrelated occurrences were not changed.
