Comparable List is a client-side tool. When you paste or upload lists, all comparison logic runs locally in your browser using JavaScript. The content of your lists is never transmitted to, stored on, or logged by any server. If you create a share link, the list data is encoded into the URL itself and stays there — it is not sent to us when the link is opened.
When you contact us by email, we receive the content of your message and your email address, which we use only to reply. If analytics are enabled on the site (see Section 3), we receive aggregated, anonymous usage statistics — page views and interaction events such as “result copied”. These events never include the contents of your lists.
Comparable List may use Google Analytics 4, which sets cookies to distinguish sessions. Analytics is optional: if it is disabled, no analytics cookies are set. Where required by law, consent is requested before analytics cookies are placed. We do not use advertising cookies and do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for their own marketing.
Your browser may store small preferences locally (such as your light/dark theme choice). This data stays on your device, is not transmitted to us, and can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser data.
Comparable List is free. If we ever introduce advertising to support the service, we will update this policy to describe any advertising partners and cookie practices before ads go live, and we will never send the contents of your lists to advertising partners.
Comparable List is a general-audience tool and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information via email, contact us and we will delete it.
Because your list data never reaches our servers, there is typically nothing for us to provide, correct, or delete in relation to the tool itself. For email correspondence, you may request access to or deletion of your messages at any time by contacting us. Depending on your jurisdiction (for example under GDPR or CCPA), additional rights may apply.
We may update this policy as the service evolves. The latest version is always available on this page, with the effective date below. Material changes will be noted on the changelog.
