A privacy-first workflow for comparing attendance rosters, invitation lists, and signups while recognizing that matching text does not prove identity.

A useful list comparison starts with a clear decision, not an upload. This workflow keeps the comparison in your browser and makes the matching rules visible, so the resulting exception list can be reviewed rather than blindly acted upon.
Clarify whether names are only a convenience label or the actual matching key. If a stable ID or email is available, it is generally safer for an important decision.
Use one name per line and keep the two lists limited to the same event, group, and time period. Keep source files unchanged so a reviewer can trace a result.
Ignoring case and repeated spaces helps with copied data, but do not remove initials, punctuation, accents, or name parts unless the matching policy explicitly allows it.
Treat shared names and exclusive names as prompts for human review. Confirm potential duplicates with a stable identifier before inviting, removing, or merging someone.

The tool runs locally in your browser. Review the result before you act on it, especially when a list contains customer, account, or operational data.
